Innsbruck, Austria – April 2022

Wonderful spring days in Innsbruck, Austria on the way to Sicily, Italy

Innsbruck, Austria 19 / Travel Diary

Innsbruck, Austria is the city that I’ve visited several times during our trips to the Austrian Alps for skiing in winter. This time Innsbruck was on my way to Sicily from Denmark, in this period of uncertainty while running from the War in Ukraine – our lovely home. I chose to stay in Innsbruck because I had lots of wonderful memories from this city and those days I needed some positive emotions. Innsbruck in April is really amazing: bright sun and sparkling greenery on the slopes of the Alpine mountains. But it wasn’t possible to fully enjoy the beauty of this city, while our country and our home was under everyday attack by russian terrorists. I had just a few moments of detachment from that anxiety about our home, but that was enough to have this brake from instant grief.
