The town is divided into two main parts: Modica Alta (Upper Modica) and Modica Bassa (Lower Modica). Modica Alta sits on a hilltop, showcasing stunning Baroque buildings, narrow winding streets, and charming squares. Visitors can explore impressive churches and palaces, such as the Cathedral of San Giorgio, which boasts an awe-inspiring façade and ornate interior.
Modica Bassa, on the other hand, offers a more lively and modern atmosphere. Here, you can find a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants, where you can savor local delicacies and, of course, the famous Modican chocolate.
