If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.

From a letter by Ernest Hemingway to a friend (1950).

For the first time in Paris, eagerly anticipating such a grand concert, looking forward to witnessing the beauty of this city in all its manifestations and the fusion of various cultures and styles, after hearing different impressions from friends and acquaintances about this city, it was strange to find myself here during such tragic events on November 13. Events when the Parisians once again faced an attack on their freedom. It felt unusual to be a tourist amid the national mourning, experiencing unease in every movement, and feeling a sense of guilt for enjoying leisure and entertainment.

The declared three-day mourning left us with nothing but strolling through Paris, enjoying the architecture and art as a whole, without delving deep inside, but rather observing everything on the surface. Everywhere, intentionally highlighted imperfections caught our eyes, becoming real highlights, with imperfection seen as a virtue in every detail. It was evident that every little thing was done with soul, emphasizing individuality and casualness. The combination of color and form, even in the simplest everyday objects, and the love for one’s surroundings – that’s the essence of Paris!
