Vinaroz, Spain

In search of a good restaurant, we went on a reconnaissance mission to the neighboring villages. Vinaros, located just 14 km away from us, delighted us twofold: with its beautiful deserted beach and excellent promenade in the city itself. For lovers of wild rocky beaches and clean sea, this place is perfect. The gentle September sun doesn’t scorch, but warmly caresses, the air is filled with oxygen, and only the sound of waves resonates with inner tranquility.

Vinaros is situated right on the border of two Spanish autonomous communities: Valencia and Catalonia. The city is known for its port, which has played a significant role in the region’s economy since the 14th century. The historic center of Vinaros is a favorite spot for walks among holidaymakers. The main highlights here are the monasteries of Saint Augustine and Saint Francis, as well as the Church of the Virgin Mary.

Peniscola, Spain

Peniscola is a small town located on the Costa del Azahar, one of the most visited places in Spain. The dazzling white stone fortress, built by the Knights Templar, impresses with its grandeur. It is worth noting that the location for constructing the castle was not chosen randomly by the Templars. The strategic positioning played a significant role, with a massive rocky cliff rising 64 meters above the sea, connected to the mainland by a small sandy causeway, which was often engulfed by the sea waves, making the fortress practically impregnable. From the ancient cannon bastions, there is a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea. However, Peniscola is not only a fortified town but also a well-known resort where you can relax on its pristine beaches almost all year round.
