And finally, when the weather got a little warmer and improved, we were able to visit the Shri Kunjapuri Temple, where we had initially planned to witness the sunrise on New Year’s Day. However, due to the cold and thick fog, we couldn’t make it up there earlier.

On the western side of the city of Rishikesh, there is a mountain with an altitude of 1645 meters, atop which stands the Kunjapuri Temple, dedicated to the goddess Sati, the wife of Lord Shiva. This beautiful temple offers a stunning view of the Himalayas, making it one of the few places where you can quickly access and experience the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayan mountains.

Shri Sati personifies female energy and serves as the patroness of all women. As a result, women of different ages visit this temple seeking the great patroness’s help, harmony in their families, or in search of a life partner. The temple holds a significant place for those who seek blessings and guidance from the goddess.
